Sunday morning at 2 o'clock James Davis died at his home on South Walnut Street of Bright's disease. Had he lived til next Saturday he would have been 74. Until a few years ago, Mr. Davis lived on his farm in Brown Township. He came here to educate his sons who attend Wabash College. He was the father of 12 children, four sons and one daughter of whom survive with their mother his death. He was a leading farmer and a man well liked by all who knew him and his family have the sympathy of this community. Rev. G.P. Fuson of the Baptist Church will conduct the funeral services at his old home 10 miles south of the city, after which the remains will be placed in the cemetery on his farm. - transcribed by kbz
